Marvel Legends Spider-Gwen Action Figure Review

Hi Everyone,

Today I received the brand new Spider-Gwen action figure, ordered from Orbital Comics. The figure is from the Marvel Legends' Spider-Man Infinite Series 3 and is captioned 'Edge of Spider-Verse' on the box.

The Box - Back View
  • The back of the box features the other figures included in the series.
  • It also shows how to build the Absorbing Man.

The Packaging
  • When I took the figure out of the packaging I was really excited to see her.
  • The figure is very light to hold.
  • Unfortunately the joints of the figure are not flexible. I find it very hard to move her knees and her elbows.

The Costume - Front View
  • The design of the figure is spot on. The costume has been recreated perfectly!

The Costume with Wrecking Ball
  • As I do not wish to build the Absorbing Man, the wrecking ball is a bit of an awkward accessory to have. However, it can be quite fun if you wish to swing around Spider-Gwen.

Accessories
  • The accessories include a Gwen Stacy head and a lowered hood.

Gwen Stacy Head - Front and Back
  • I did not enjoy pulling off the head in order to replace it but it was quite easily done and definitely worth it. I think the Gwen Stacy head looks really cool!

On Display
  • Spider-Gwen does not come with a stand so it takes a bit of balance to display her.
  • I have matched her up with a Silver Age Gwen Stacy action figure and a previous Marvel Legends Spider-Man figure. Spidey is a lot taller than Spider-Gwen!

Overall, I really like the Spider-Gwen action figure! The costume is perfect and her accessories are very cool. The only thing that could possibly improve the figure is if she was a bit more flexible and if a stand was included.

Spider-Gwen is a hot new figure and this is making her quite expensive online!

Harley Quinn and Supergirl Femme Fatale Figures

Hi Everyone,

The purpose of today's post is to take a quick look at the recently released Harley Quinn Femme Fatale in both colour and black and white as well as a look at the SDCC 2015 Supergirl figure. The figures are all very light in weight. They are almost like action figures but with no forms of articulation.

Harley Quinn Femme Fatale

The Harley Quinn Femme Fatale was a Christmas present given to me from my family. Harley was found in Coliseum of Comics (Florida) and this week it has been released in UK comic book shops.

Harley can be seen standing on the bat-symbol. She is holding a can of black spray paint having sprayed the word "stinks" on the symbol. I love how the figure tells a story which stays true to Harley's playful character.

Harley Quinn "Almost Got 'Im" SDCC Femme Fatale

The black and white version of the Harley Quinn Femme Fatale is based on the Batman Adventures episode called "Almost Got 'Im". In this episode, the villains sit around a table to tell their tales of how they almost defeated the Batman. Joker's story is coloured in black and white, hence the release of this figure.

Supergirl SDCC Femme Fatale

I love this Supergirl figure because of her vibrant colours. She was a birthday gift to me from my sister. This Femme Fatale is based upon Supergirl's adventures in Justice League Unlimited. I think out of the three pieces, Supergirl is my favourite.

J. Scott Campbell SDCC'15 Renew Your Vows Variant

Hi Everyone,

Today J. Scott Campbell has been teasing his new San Diego Comic Con exclusive cover to the Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows #2. It appears to be available in both colour & black and white.

I am SO excited about this cover and I really hope I can get a copy! I think it will be part of Stan Lee's Collectible products as it features a little Stan Lee plush toy.

In this preview we can see Spidey unmasked and Mary Jane cuddled up to him.

However, the two are not alone. Just above them the Black Cat is being drawn and I am pretty sure she won't be happy with their relationship!

When my little sister was tiny, Dad read her Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man at bedtime. Therefore, Lil is a huge Black Cat fan and so I know she is going to love the cover too!

We were lucky enough to meet J. Scott Campbell at London Super Comic Con in 2013 and he was so lovely! He signed a few comics and prints for us and asked Lil some questions about the Black Cat (who she was cosplaying as) and I hope one day we can see him again!
