Comics on Campus

Last Monday I had a great day setting up my comic book shop at my University. I had to take many trips to my car to pick up the comic boxes and stock but when this was all done the end result was well worth it.

I wasn't really sure how last week was going to go. I tried advertising my comic book shop in many different ways such as pinning up posters and sending out emails to people but I wasn't really sure who had seen them. Then I started receiving emails from other students, asking if I had this or that and I began gaining a lot of customers. This has made my experience so far as I have had the chance to speak to so many different people about what they enjoy reading and which comic book characters they like. Everyone has been so friendly.

It has also been cool as I've worked out which characters are popular. So far, DC Comics are winning!

I only have a couple more days left of running my comic book shop, I know I'm going to miss it lots.

My Comic Shop

I have had a great weekend planning and preparing for my pop up comic shop which I am running for the next two weeks at University. I have planned to do this for a while now as I have always wanted the experience of either working or running a comic book shop. This is because it consists of all my favourite things.

On Saturday Dad, Lily and I travelled to Reed Comics out in the country side and met our friend Terri. This was to pick up all the stock needed for these next two weeks. This was great as their offices are amazing!

Then Lily and I spent a lot of time pricing up the different comic books and graphic novels. This was a lot of fun as we love playing with stationary! I have also ordered some personal stock such as Funko POP! Vinyls which I think will sell and I am selling copies of Classified Files of a Superhero too.

Today I got the keys to the Studio where the comic shop is based on campus and I placed all the stock on my stall. The Studio is a very friendly environment and everyone who has a stall there is very supportive of one another. I really hope these next two weeks will be full of fun and sales! :)
